Take your climbing to another level.

In every sport, there are sports psychology tools that help improve performance. Climbing is no different, especially when we consider the mental hurdles involved in climbing like fear of falling or lack of focused attention. But what if we told you these same mental skills that help us improve our climbing can also help us improve our daily lives?

Interestingly enough, the mental skills related to climbing can also help us to reduce stress, increase our self-awareness, and improve our relationships. We’ll take you through a 4 week course that introduces participants to mental training skills, facilitates ways to practice using the skills, and helps you find ways to apply these skills in other areas of life.

This training group is perfect for someone who wants to improve their climbing skills, and also wants to build relationships within the climbing community and is looking for ways to increase other aspects of wellness in their life.

We’ll implement mental training skills including:

  • Directing/focusing our attention

  • Increasing body awareness

  • Adapting our limiting internal narratives

  • Recognizing physical limits and maintaining curiosity and fun

Classes are geared toward young adults and adults, ages 18 and up.

Meet the Guide

Throughout my life, my favorite place to escape to has been the outdoors. I get excited every chance I have to be outdoors because I know it will be an opportunity to detach, get away and reconnect with nature and myself.

My professional life in outdoor settings has ranged from summer camps to management positions at a ski resort and adventure outfitter. Through each experience, I've gained the skills and experience necessary to provide safe and effective facilitation for groups in the outdoors. As a Wilderness First Responder (WFR) my biggest priority is the safety of our participants.

My favorite outdoor activities are skiing, climbing, backpacking, mountain biking and kayaking. I try to live an active lifestyle and be intentional about the decisions I make.
