A field day for therapists... What's that?
Inner Trek’s Therapist Field Day is an event where counselors, psychologists, social workers, and other helping professionals are invited to spend the day with one another, participating in activities designed to refresh us in the work we do and remind us of the power of the therapeutic process. We’ll dedicate time and space toward revitalizing activities, utilizing some structured and unstructured time. We’ll also facilitate several group activities that utilize the experiential processes involved in therapy, the purpose being to engage therapists in interactive therapy exercises to remind us what it feels like to do the work we usher client’s into. We’ll provide lunch and snacks, coffee in the morning, beverages during the day. You get to choose the level to which you participate in activities as well as choosing the level of disclosure you initiate related to any group type experiences or experiences that do involve utilizing therapeutic processes.
Why we all need this
All therapists need reminders now and again where we “walk the talk”, where we put ourselves in the shoes of our clients and we actually do some of the exercises we ask our clients to do. We also need to remember how rewarding this work can be. Most of us could use a little dose of fun, some relaxation, and a concentrated effort towards caring for ourselves. The Therapist Field Day is designed to be a little dose of all of that.
So come join us! Have fun! Remember how powerful this work can be! Enjoy some rest, some movement, some being cared for and the permission to slow down.
