Deep Waters, Men's Trip

July 23-25, 2021

Irvine, Kentucky

Cost: $250

Join us for a time to reorient yourself to the deep waters of your heart and leave with a renewed sense of empowerment of your strengths, purpose and values.

Sometimes we need a chance to get back to who we are, what we believe, and what's most important to us. Sharing an adventure alongside other men is a perfect metaphor for living our lives in community with others and with a distinct purpose. On this trip, We'll be taking on physical activities like navigating trail systems, paddling kayaks or canoes down the Red River, taking a cool dip at a swimming hole, and evening hiking to an outlook for a sunrise of sunset. We'll also be structuring time to share with one another about our lives, what's most important to us, and our values and purpose. We'll use the community and time together to encourage one another and spur one another forward in our quest to be the men we want to be. Whether you feel strongly about your purpose or whether you're just finding out that your life can have purpose, all are welcome to join us for this experience. We all start somewhere in walking these paths in life.

Part of the value of an Inner Trek trip is the chance to experience an adventure without having to have all the gear. We provide each participant a tent with a ground tarp and rainfly, a sleeping bag, inflatable airpad, and a fleece liner. We also take care of preparing the food, bringing cooking equipment, and making sure we have the necessary first aid gear. The sample packing list will give an idea of things each participant needs to bring.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I've never been camping?

That's what we are here for. We provide the gear, so you don't have to own it. We guide the hikes, so you don't have to know how to read a map. We bring the meals, so you don't have to know how to cook over the fire. Come to learn and experience with our guidance.

Who is this trip planned for?

Any man 18 and older is welcome to join us. Bring a friend, your dad or neighbor. Or sign up and meet others who are ready to jump into a trip like this.

How fit do I need to be for this trip?

We won't be running any marathons or hiking to any mountain peaks. We will hike through the hills and paddle the river at an enjoyable pace. An ability to walk 3-5 miles is a good guide for a fitness level.

Do we have to talk about our feelings?

We believe that it's important and beneficial to be able to speak with depth and insight about our lives and about who we are. This can mean sharing emotions we experience. We won't force you to share or talk about anything you're not comfortable with sharing. However, we will ask that you participate in the ways you feel comfortable and consider trying things you haven't before.
